A risk assessment is a list of things that may endanger the safety of the crew that help you while making a film, normally you get a list of about 32 items that must be prevented if they are present and are then rated between 1-5 with anything higher than 2 needing to be looked into and prevented. These lists contain items such as; Alcohol/Drugs, Animals/Insects, Confined spaces, Fatigue/Long hours, Fire, Machinery/Industrial/Crane/Hoist, Night operations, Noise, Smoking, Explosives, Stunts, Vehicles, Weapons and Other

Guidance:

1.     Assess whether a hazard will be present, write YES or NO.  Then for each hazard that you have said YES to do the following:

2.     Rate each risk on a Severity scale from Negligable (N), Low risk (L), Moderate risk (M), Severe (S), Very severe (V)

3.     Rate each risks Likelihood on scale from Very unlikely (VU), Unlikely (U), Possible (P), Likely (L), Very likely (VL)

4.     Determine the Risk Factor from the table overleaf.
